It was a busy afternoon for Kamloops RCMP on Friday.
Officers were attempting to arrest a 36-year-old man outside of a business in the Valleyview area when the driver used his vehicle to ram a police cruiser.
The man initially managed to escape, only to have his vehicle tires spiked shortly after.
A police service dog was then used to track the man down after he escaped on foot.
Wanted on several outstanding warrants and new charges stemming from Friday’s incident, the man will be held in custody for weekend court.
‘Police have been hunting this individual down to arrest him for too long and it’s great to have him off the streets,” said Sgt Jeff Bingley.
