Kamloops RCMP needed to be sharp Wednesday morning after a vehicle stop resulted in police finding numerous weapons.
According to police, at 2 a.m., an officer conducted a routine traffic stop on Seymour Street. When the officer approached the vehicle he had stopped, he saw a taser and a hunting knife near the centre console.
The officer arrested the man and woman inside the vehicle without incident. Police then searched the vehicle for additional weapons.
Found inside the vehicle were two tasers, two cans of bear spray, a collapsible baton, two machetes, a hatchet, and numerous knives.
The 45-year-old woman arrested was released with a future court date while the 50-year-old man was taken into custody to go before a judge. The man is facing charges of Possession of a Weapon while Prohibited, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, and Possession of a Weapon with no License.
Both the man and woman were from Kamloops.
