The City of Kelowna is warning residents about restrictions on Lakeshore Road for Thursday, July 23rd.
Between Dehart Road and Bellevue Creek Bridge, Lakeshore Road will see single-lane alternating traffic between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday. This restriction is because of culvert installation and tree removal.

Drivers can expect delays in that area, and the City is urging people to plan ahead for extra commuting time. There will still be pedestrian access, but cyclists are asked to use other routes because of uneven surfaces. There may be delays in transit routes because of the construction. Transit users can visit BC Transit’s website or call the hotline at 250-860-8121 to plan their schedule.
This section of Lakeshore Road will see improvements to sidewalks, curb and gutters, a multi-use pathway, on-road bike lanes, and pedestrian and roadway lighting improvements. Crews will be planting new deciduous trees in the boulevards.
Those going to the area should pay attention to the signs and obey site safety personnel.
