Get your hot pants and hairspray ready, as the first annual classic rock music festival, Rock and the Lake, is scheduled to kick off during the summer of 2016.
On Monday, November 30th, RG Sports and Entertainment announced an exciting lineup of bands that will be rocking it out this summer in the Okanagan.
Hosted by K 96.3 and Prospera Place, the event is expected to boast a number of Canadian rockers, many of which are from right here in the Okanagan.
“I think it’s going to be awesome,” said Alfie Galpin, resident of Peachland and guitar/keyboardist for Canadian rock band, Headpins. “I’m excited, it’s basically my hometown, you know the whole Okanagan. We all grew up here, went to high school here, and so this is like a hometown for me. It’ll be really great to see people come and see this town. It’s going to be an awesome outdoor show.”
The three-day music festival will take place beginning on August 12th and running through until the 14th. The event will be held mostly outdoors, with tons of food and drink vendors to choose from.
Taking place in the downtown core right near Prospera Place, festival goers will also have the chance to enjoy Kelowna’s beaches and city centre before an exciting evening of rock and roll.
Tickets will go on sale beginning on Friday, December 4th at 10:00 a.m., and can be purchased at www.selectyourtickets.com.
Tickets are also available by phone at 250-162-5050, and at the Prospera Place box office.
Rockers can grab a full event pass for $127.50, or a day pass for $49.50.
Here's a list of the bands playing during the three day event:
