The Streaming Café in Kelowna is closing its doors.
The café opened in 2009 as a way to combine live music with live streaming online. For the past seven years the owners have pursued that goal at the Leon Avenue location, but because of future goals that Leon Avenue location will be closing.
The shows will remain in the Okanagan but they will be moving to larger locations to accommodate the growing crowds.
In a blog post posted on the website it states that the decision was hard, but to move forward sometimes you have to leave some things behind.
“Although it is going to be hard to leave our intimate space and wood wall we are very excited for what the future holds for Streaming Café. We truly appreciate everyone that has been part of this story so far and we look forward to seeing this community grow.”
The shows both live and streamed will continue to be put on all over the Okanagan at different venues and the fall schedule will be released shortly.
The Leon Avenue location will close for good on June 25.
