Kelowna RCMP has arrested a suspect believed to be involved in a robbery in Kelowna on May 17.
At around 10:12 a.m. police responded to a report that a man inside The Bay at Orchard Park Shopping Centre has shoplifted some items. The store’s loss prevention officer was watching the suspect and reported to police that he stole a pair of sunglasses valued at nearly $250. The suspect was arrested by officers inside the Sport Chek store and one of the investigators recognized the man from video surveillance footage from a convenience store robbery.
The man was still wearing the clothing seen in footage from a robbery at the 7-Eleven store on Bernard Ave. earlier that morning, and he was in possession of the knife that police believed to be used in the robbery.
Police have charged Bradley Christopher Collingwood with robbery, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, theft under $5,000, and possession of stolen property. He has been remanded in police custody and is expected to appear in court next month.
