Fireworks caused 40 cedar hedges to become engulfed in flames Saturday morning in Kelowna.
Kelowna Fire Dispatch received a 911 call at 3 a.m. about cedar hedges on fire next to a residential building on Beach Ave.
Two people were evacuated safely before firefighters arrived on scene.
The flames that were caused by the fireworks came within 10 feet of the building, but no damage was caused.
Crews were able to knock down the fire and RCMP are now investigating.
Fireworks are illegal in the city without a special permit.
