Over 1,000 without power in Glenmore thanks to crash

Over 1,000 residents in the Glenmore area of Kelowna are without power on Friday night.

According to Karen Zukas from FortisBC, a vehicle crashed into a pole near the intersection of Sexsmith Road and Reynolds Road that led to the power outage in the surrounding neighbourhood.

A total of 1,350 customers have been affected by the outage.

FortisBC crews are currently working to assess the damage and make sure the area is safe for emergency crews.

Zukas said the crash was "serious" but there is no word on the condition of the driver or any passengers.

Full power restoration is expected by 3 a.m.
