Kelowna RCMP are in the early stages of an investigation into a robbery of an Orchard Plaza jewelry store that happened yesterday.
According to Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey, the incident happened just before 5 p.m. on November 29th, at Cooper Jewellers.
O’Donaghey says two suspects physically restrained two store employees while they loaded up with merchandise and took off from the store.
It appears no weapons were involved in the incident and the employees appeared to be unharmed, although they were tied up for several minutes.
O’Donaghey says the two suspects “may have been spooked by a member of the public outside the store” and fled the area in a dark SUV, headed towards Springfield Road.
He describes the men as dark skinned, tall and slender, dressed in all black. One was wearing a mask.
The Kelowna RCMP GIS (General Investigations Section) has assumed conduct of the ongoing investigation.
