The building permit was issued on Monday, Jan. 29 but just posted by the City of Kelowna last Wednesday.
A development permit application was submitted to the city in July 2023 by Vancouver-based developer Urban Design Group Architects Ltd. but didn’t get circulated until early September.
The building will be going up on a 3.7 acre property is located at 3425 Circuit Road.
That is just west of the Airport Village shopping plaza, off Pier Mac Way.
The building permit for the 30,250 square foot building is valued at $5.5 million and was issued to West Kelowna-based Norson Construction.
“We are confident the proposed form of development will set a new level of industrial standard for the neighbourhood; will function well for land use, parking and tenant operations; and provide employment-generating opportunities to the city,” said Aaron Vornbrock, principal of the developing company, in the 2023 application.
