Less than 24 hours after reporting a third case of COVID-19 at Kelowna Secondary School, another major Central Okanagan school has reported a positive test.
According to a School District 23 release, a positive test has been confirmed at Okanagan Mission Secondary (OKM) School.
The release didn’t reveal whether the case came from a student, faculty member or someone else, but did say that it’s been confirmed through Interior Health.
The health authority has not updated its website with specific exposure dates, but that will likely happen at some point on Thursday.
The safety and well-being of students, families, and staff remains our highest priority,” said the SD23 release.
“Central Okanagan Public Schools will continue to implement the strict health and safety protocols and procedures that are in place so students and staff can continue to attend school as safely as possible.”
The school district said it will continue to work closely with IH to determine if additional actions are required, as well as support ongoing communication to the OKM community.
Students and faculty are reminded to stay home from school if they display any symptoms of COVID-19.
