A pair of people are facing charges following a dramatic takedown of a stolen truck in Kelowna on Monday morning.
Brendan Latimer, 27, has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, possession of stolen property, obstruction of a police officer and three breaches of court orders.
He remains in custody and will appear in court on Aug. 3.
Bailee Adams, 24, has been charged with failure to comply with a court order and has been released from custody with a future court date.
Members of the Kelowna RCMP spotted the stolen truck from Alberta on Monday morning and RCMP air services were brought in to assist with the pursuit.
It led to a dramatic takedown of the vehicle at the intersection of KLO Road and Benvoulin Road shortly before 2:30 pm, where Latimer and Adams were both arrested.
“Officers attempted to conduct the arrest of the occupants of the vehicle which fled, colliding with an attending police vehicle,” said Cpl. Guillaume Tanguay.
“The stolen vehicle subsequently became disabled a short distance away and officers were able to effect the arrest without further incident.”
Although there was some damage to vehicles, no one was injured in the pursuit.
The RCMP is not releasing any further information at this time.
