City of Kelowna looking for input on e-scooters

The widely talked about mode of transportation, e scooters is up for discussion once again; but this time the City of Kelowna wants public input on identifying improvements.

After participating in a provincial pilot program, the city has gained a better understanding of how shared e-scooters reduce road congestion and greenhouse gas emissions, while offering an affordable way to get around Kelowna.

The City of Kelowna is asking for the community to share their personal experiences with the shared scooter program, whether they have driven one or not.

“In order to effectively offer more innovative transportation options, we want to hear from residents about their experiences with shared e-scooters,” said Matt Worona, New Mobility Specialist.

“Community feedback has been vital to making on-going improvements since the program launched,” said Worona. ”Resident input has already helped make the program safer, for example by identifying improvements for pedestrians and those with disabilities.”

Residents can voice their concerns or praise by Nov. 7 on the City of Kelowna website by filling out a quick survey and leaving a comment.

This will help the city better understand how residents view the service and how it can be improved for the future.
