UPDATE: Dierks Bentley no longer coming to Kelowna in January after Canadian tour cancelled

(UPDATE: Dec. 21 @ 11:10 am) - The first major post-pandemic concert at Prospera Place has been cancelled.

Dierks Bentley was scheduled to play in Kelowna on Friday, Jan. 28, but all of the country star's Canadian dates were cancelled today.

The cancellation comes one day after new COVID-19 restrictions took effect in BC that limit events of more than 1,000 people to half capacity.

Ticketmaster said that all refunds on tickets will be automatically processed to the original method of payment.

However, there has been no information provided on if or when the Canadian tour will be rescheduled.

(Original story: Oct. 27 @ 12:55 pm) - With British Columbia’s vaccine passport system fully in place, the concert announcements continue to trickle in.

The latest for Kelowna is country star Dierks Bentley, who will be coming to play at Prospera Place on Friday, Jan. 28.

“Can’t wait to get back out there with Jordan Davis and Tenille Arts in Canada,” Bentley said in a social media announcement.

“It’s going to be so fun having them out there and continuing the fun that is the Beers On Me tour.”

The tour is named after his latest single, featuring Breland and Hardy, which was released back in July.

The Grammy nominee and CMA winner will be playing that tune and plenty of others from his nine studio albums when he comes to the Central Okanagan early next year.

Tickets for the show go on sale Nov. 5.
