The CEO of Stober Group has died suddenly.
Dave McAnerney was 59.
His family said he died while mountain biking with his friends.
McAnerney, who was previously CEO at SunRype, “cherished family above all,” his loved ones said in a statement.
“The McAnerney family is truly heartbroken to announce the passing of an amazing husband, father, brother, and dear friend to so many,” they said, adding: “He was a family man through and through and cherished his wife Anne and his girls, Michelle, and Renee.
“It was beautiful to see the four of them together laughing and loving life.”
The family praised McAnerney as an “accomplished achiever” who got straight As from kindergarten to college.
“Despite these incredible accomplishments, they were not what made the man,” they said. “It was his love and compassion for his family, co-workers, friends, and life.
“Dave’s spirit will live on in his wife Anne, his daughters Michelle and Renee, his sister Chris, brothers Marshall and Bruce and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.”
A date for McAnerney’s funeral will be announced in due course, the family said.
