Three people have been treated for smoke inhalation after a small fire at the Kelowna Downtown Library parkade.
Firefighters were dispatched to the building, which is at 1360 Ellis Street, around 6:30 pm on Sunday.
There was black smoke coming from a vent in the parkade, according to a news release from Platoon Captain Scott Clarke.
“The fire was quickly extinguished with very minor damage to the structure,” Clarke said.
“The fire was contained to the vent and did not extend to the parkade under the library.”
Medics then treated three people on scene for minor smoke inhalation, Clarke explained.
None of them needed to go to hospital.
The fire’s cause remains under investigation, Clarke said.
Kelowna Fire Department said it responded with three engines, a rescue unit, a ladder truck and a command unit.
