A local non-profit is gearing up for its thrilling, yet chilling annual event, the 2018 Kelowna Polar Bear Dip.
Emilie Sarkissian has been organizing the event for the last few years and in the video below, she shares her seasoned tips on how to do the dip - with haste and efficiency.
Hosted by UBC Okanagan's Jeux de Commerce West, the polar bear dip raises funds for CRIS Adaptive Adventures.
Last year the dip raised $3,000 for the non-profit, which takes persons with disabilities on outdoor adventures to promote healthy living.
This year, they're hoping to raise $5,000.
The event takes place on Jan. 1, 2018 at Tugboat Bay from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
A registration station, food trucks and music will be set up at Tugboat Bay to host an estimated 100-plus excited/nervous participants ready to brave the cold.

And here's a tip from Sarkissian, save your feet and wear shoes during the dip!
