In what seems like an all-too-common occurrence in Kelowna of late, the RCMP is investigating another suspicious incident involving local youths being approached by a stranger.
The latest incident happened around 1:30 pm on Monday as a pair of boys were walking along Arbor View Drive in the Mission.
According to the RCMP, a man drove up to the two boys as they walked and asked them if they wanted to get into his vehicle.
When they told him no, he drove away, but the boys saw him several more times in the area that afternoon.
“We are actively working to identify the man and determine his intentions,” said Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy.
“We are also working to determine if this incident is related in any way to the other suspicious person reports we’ve received recently.”
The unknown man is described as having “a prominent nose” and was driving a dark grey or black older-model pickup truck.
“This incident is concerning, and we are appealing to any witnesses, or persons with surveillance video or dashcam footage, to come forward and speak with us,” added Noseworthy.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 or submit tips anonymously to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477.
