A Kelowna city councillor has indicated it is bringing forward a motion seeking the city’s support to enter into a transit campaign aimed at supporting teens in the city.
Coun. Gord Lovegrove said he will be seeking his colleagues' support for a “Transit for Teens” campaign.
He told council at the end of the Monday meeting that the initiative expands BC’s Get on Board program, which currently provides free transit to kids under 12-years-old.

Coun. Lovegrove said he’d like to see the program expanded to teens under the age of 18.
He is expected to bring forward the motion during the April 22 meeting.
The provincial program was announced in fall 2021.
Regionally, the City of Penticton has announced it will be offering transit to youth under the age of 24 for the rest of the year as part of a pilot program.
