Friends, family and strangers are rallying behind a Kelowna man who is currently fighting for his life in Vancouver.
Ryan Thorne was in Castlegar with family over the long weekend when he suffered multiple seizures and had to be airlifted to Kelowna General Hospital.
The 32-year-old had suffered three aneurysms, two of which were relieved through surgery after he was once again airlifted, this time to Vancouver General Hospital.
Ryan is now stable in ICU, breathing on his own, but the next few days will be critical to his longer term prognosis.
While he fights for his health, his wife Kailee is 32 weeks pregnant with the couple’s first child.
A support system of family members has been travelling between the Okanagan and Vancouver to be with Ryan and Kailee at this time.
In that regard, a GoFundMe has been set up by Ryan’s sister-in-law to help cover some of the expenses associated with a lengthy stay in Vancouver.
