On Saturday, April 4, Kelowna’s Gospel Mission (KGM) will serve a special Easter lunch to residents at both of its shelters, while the Outreach Team brings meals directly to unsheltered neighbours throughout the community.
At KGM, sharing a special holiday meal with residents has always been a meaningful part of Easter. Chef Jeremy Luypen and the dedicated kitchen team have been preparing for the day alongside more than 30 volunteers helping make this event possible. Local elected officials and community partners will also join volunteers on April 4 to help serve lunch to residents.

“All of us know it’s a privilege to set a table and gather together with people we love," says Trevor Freeman, executive director of KGM. "At KGM, we’re privileged to set our table and gather with folks experiencing homelessness in our community. Whether in shelter or outside, we’re grateful to be able to share and serve our unsheltered neighbours through our outreach team."
Last Easter, KGM brought people together over Easter meals. More than a meal, each interaction created space for connection, respect and trust. Through the continued support of the community and the ongoing care of the Outreach Team and caseworkers, moments like these can lead to vital support such as medical care, mental health counselling, recovery programs, safe shelter and much more.
KGM invites the community to be part of this special day by sharing Easter blessings through prayer, encouragement and financial support. Every gift helps make this meal a meaningful reminder that our community cares.
