Tug 6 Craft Coffee Roasters has supported Mamas for Mamas for the past four years and that is about to continue.
Now, the local coffee roasting company is taking that support a step further so individuals and businesses can support the non-profit organization.
The support will not only have customers buying sustainable coffee but $3.50 for every pound sold goes to the Mamas for Mamas.
Tug 6 Coffee Roasters is releasing three new coffees which will be branded for different Mamas.
The Grassroots dark roast supports Mamas for Mamas Indigenous support programs. There is also Community medium roast and Empowerment espresso.
The release says that now anyone can order these coffees from the Craft Coffee Canada website and have them delivered right to their home or business while also supporting the programs.
The release also noted that if businesses would like to bring the coffee into their office or transition to the Mamas coffee, the two companies are also working with Mill Creek Coffee to distribute these new flavours.
“Partnering with a national charity has been one of our company goals for a few years,” said John Oughtred, partner, Tug 6 Craft Coffee Roasters.
“Our team agreed this was the right organization to work with to launch this program.”
Tug 6 Roasters claims that they deliver a unique coffee experience inspired by the lifestyle and landscapes of the Okanagan.
The parent company, Craft Coffee Canada, has been brewing coffee since 1973 and is based out of Vancouver Island.
“There was no hesitation that this was a natural fit, mamas need their coffee,” said Shannon Christensen, CEO/founder Mamas for Mamas.
The release states that the national organization provides support to caregivers by providing ongoing support when families are experiencing various poverty-related struggles.
The head office is located in Kelowna and includes five branches across Canada.
The organization claims that they also work “with other organizations to change the systems that contribute to the vicious cycle of poverty, mental health issues, housing and food insecurities,” the statement read.
