Hooligans Ales & Eats is ready to open its doors to Kelowna residents.
While the "Eats" will be served up starting Wednesday, the "Ales" will have to wait a while.
As is often the case with new pubs and craft breweries, getting the all-important liquor license can end up taking a long time.
"It's more than a bit frustrating", said owner Paula Nowakowski. "Hopefully it will be coming around sooner rather than later."
But, Nowakowski is happy to launch the restaurant anyway.
"We think we've got a cool vibe going here," she said.
Hooligans' Facebook page puts it like this:
“We aim to create a cool and casual dining experience, where friends and family come to count memories, not calories.”
The menu features a number of burgers that are fittingly listed under the “Two Hands Recommended” section.
Also featured on the menu is “The Melt Shop,” where you can find various types of grilled cheese sandwiches that will certainly put the ones you make at home to shame.
And if you’re a wing lover, Hooligans will be one of your favourite spots, as the eatery features 100 different flavours to choose from.
Hooligans even has menu options that will satisfy the biggest of sweet tooths, like the mini donut poutine and some epic waffles at brunch.
Once the license comes through, there will be plenty of beers on tap as well, but if you’re looking for non-alcoholic options that are 10 “outrageous shakes” to choose from to once again satisfy that sweet tooth.
Hooligans Ales & Eats at 272 Bernard Ave starting tomorrow, Wednesday!
