There remains a small police presence around the intersection of the two streets where local Mounties and the Emergency Response Team were executing a search warrant this morning.

It’s not just local Mounties at the scene, as geared-up members of the Emergency Response Team are part of the action as well.

Cpl. Steve Lang tells KelownaNow that the Kelowna RCMP and Southeast District Emergency Response Team are in the process of executing a search warrant related to an ongoing investigation.
“Once the target locations are secured, I expect the road will reopen to traffic,” he explained.
The police response has resulted in the closure of Springfield Road between Burtch and Dayton roads, which has produced chaos on nearby streets through the Landmark District.
Lang said no further details can be released regarding the investigation at this time, but KelownaNow will update this story when the road reopens and traffic pressures are relieved.
