The Kelowna RCMP Traffic Services are reminding the public that modifications to vehicles that result in the removal, partial or full bypass of the muffler, or addition of a device that increases noise or produces flame is prohibited.
“With the beautiful spring weather the gas powered toys are emerging onto the roads again, and with them come the complaints from the public that some vehicles are too loud,” said the Kelowna RCMP in a statement released today.
They added that inspection orders can be issued, and if the defect is not repaired or corrected, the registered owner will be unable to reinsure the vehicle.
