(UPDATE: Aug. 27 @ 7:30 pm) - FortisBC has restored power after an outage in Kelowna today.
The power went back on for just over 3,000 customers, most in the Glenmore area, around 6:45 pm.
It initially went out at 3:22 pm.
(Original story: Aug. 27 @ 4:30 pm) - A power outage is affecting thousands of Kelowna residents this afternoon.
According to the FortisBC outage map, the power went out for just over 3,000 customers at 3:22 pm.
It’s mainly affecting homes and businesses in the Glenmore area, as well as some around Dilworth Mountain and near Sexsmith Road west of Reid’s Corner.

The notice says repairs are needed, but it does not specify a cause or what repairs are needed.
However, FortisBC does anticipate the power will be restored around 5:30 pm.
