Restaurant at Tower Ranch Golf Club closes after possible COVID-19 exposure

Tower Ranch Golf Club has closed its restaurant out of "an abundance of caution" after a possible COVID-19 exposure.

According to acting General Manager James Cronk, a female server was feeling under the weather and experienced possible Coronavirus symptoms. She then got tested, informed Carrington's Restaurant, and had a discussion with Interior Health.

Cronk explained that the club was informed by the server on Saturday night at 6 pm that she may have tested positive for the virus.

"We've closed our restaurant," said Cronk. "We were informed last night around 6 o'clock that one of our staff members had tested positive. So we immediately closed our restaurant and it remains closed while we have our staff tested and while we get the clubhouse cleaned."

"What I'll also say is, I've spoken with the employee, and they've yet to be contacted, so it's really just an abundance of caution that we are doing this. We had an employee that felt sick, so they stayed home based on our protocol, and we're just waiting to find out more."

Cronk mentioned that they are now waiting for more direction from Interior Health, though the golf course will remain open at this time.

"At the moment the golf course remains open, and honestly, we have numerous protocols put in place."

"The staff won't come back until they're tested. The restaurant will open, A, once we get approval from Interior Health and, B, when all the staff that would be working would be tested."
