They’ll be enemies on the ice tonight, but the Kelowna Rockets and Seattle Thunderbirds were anything but that on Tuesday.
That’s why the Rockets were quick to dispatch their own team bus to go rescue their stranded rivals after the T-Birds bus was involved in a minor accident en route to Kelowna.

“On the way to Kelowna today, ahead of (Wednesday’s) matchup, our team bus slid off the road and into a ditch,” explained a Tuesday night post to social media from the T-Birds.
Fortunately, no one on board was hurt, but the bus was unable to carry on with the journey to the Okanagan, which left the group of players and staff stuck in transit.
That’s when the Rockets came to the rescue, dispatching their own team bus to go pick up the team that they will host at Prospera Place this evening.
The T-Birds made it to Kelowna safely on the Rockets bus and tonight’s game will go on as scheduled.
It’s unknown at this time where Seattle’s bus ran into issues on its journey to Kelowna and if it will be available to take the team back across the border on Thursday.
Both the Coquihalla Highway (Hwy 5) and Hwy 3 remains under winter storm warnings today.
