Rogers to open customer solution centre in Kelowna creating 350 ‘high-quality jobs’

Exciting new opportunities will be coming to the Kelowna job market next year.

Rogers Communications has announced it will be opening a new BC customer solution centre in Kelowna in the summer of 2020.

With that comes 350 new high-quality jobs into the Kelowna job market, which Rogers says will grow to 500 overtime.

The new customer solution centre will be located in Landmark 4, located in between Dickson Avenue and Hwy 97 in Kelowna’s constantly growing Landmark District.

"Our centres play a vital role in our customers’ experience, and we’re pleased to add 350 new team members to serve our customers across Canada,” said Eric Agius, senior VP of customer care at Rogers.

“We’re proud to grow our presence in the province and tap into the incredible Okanagan workforce.”

Renovations won’t begin until early 2020 and hiring for the new centre will happen next spring.

Mayor Colin Basran expressed excitement over Rogers’ investment in the Okanagan’s biggest city.

“With our growing technology sector, along with every other kind of business, communications technology is essential to keeping our local economy going strong,” he said.

This is far from the first investment Rogers has made in BC’s economy, as the company’s economic output footprint in the province last year was roughly $2 billion.

“We see the tremendous growth opportunity in Kelowna and we're excited to help boost the local economy in this beautiful part of the province," said Rick Sellers, president of Rogers in BC.

“This new customer solution centre builds on our deep commitment to the Okanagan and the province overall.”

Today’s announcement from Rogers comes less than a week after the Landmark District poured concrete for the 23-storey Landmark 7, which is scheduled for completion in 2022.
