A full closure of Lakeshore Road near Gyro Beach is needed overnight.
The City of Kelowna says the lakefront route will be shut down between Lanfranco Road and Richter Street from 7 pm Sunday until 7 am Monday.

It’s to allow construction crews to tie in the watermain for the Lakeshore Road improvement project, which has already restricted the road to one-way traffic since early May.
“This project upgrades underground water and storm systems while adding bike lanes, landscaping and road improvements to improve safety and travel,” a City release explains.
“The new bike lanes will create a continuous route linking Casorso Road with the Abbott/Watt multi-use path.”
All vehicle traffic will be detoured using Lanfranco Road and Richter Street, while the east sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians.
“Residents and businesses located within the closure area may experience temporary access restrictions during portions of the work,” the release adds.
“Personnel will be available onsite to assist with access requirements where possible. The east sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians.”
The one-way restriction on Lakeshore Road was only meant to last around a month, which means the route should fully reopen relatively soon.
