Kelowna RCMP and the BC Coroners Service are investigating the circumstances that led to a man’s sudden death over the weekend.
On February 22, 2020, shortly after 10 pm, police were called to assist the Ellison Fire Department who had responded to a report of a fire at a residence in the 4000 block of Anderson Road.
Upon arriving, crews reported a vehicle and a trailer were found to be fully engulfed, and smoke was seen coming from a nearby residence.
During fire suppression operations, the body of a male was located in the nearby residence.
While RCMP have not released the man’s name due to privacy reasons, he has been identified as a Kelowna resident in his mid 30’s.
“At this time, criminality is not suspected in the man's death and the BC Coroners Service is also investigating,” states Cpl. Stuart Smith of the Kelowna Regional Detachment.
