"For probably about the past 15 or 20 years I've been very disgruntled," said Brian Rogers. "Especially when it comes to accountability."
And that's what led him to former Conservative Party leadership hopeful Maxime Bernier and The People's Party of Canada.
"I was finding that there was really no political party out there that I saw that had any kind of moral values," said Rogers, "or any promises that were kept."
In the PPC, he sees what he calls a "solid conservative platform."
And the core principle he finds there is freedom.
"Government needs to stand out of the way and let people lead their lives," said Rogers, crediting Ronald Reagan.
When asked about BC's impending proof of vaccination requirements, he makes a leap that is bound to draw criticism.
He compared it to the treatment of Jews in Nazi Germany and blacks in the southern USA in the 40s and 50s.
"I'm thinking, wow, that really seems to resemble what is happening now," said Rogers.
He said he's not necessarily against the vaccine, but he admits he is hesitant about it.
"Let people decide for themselves whether or not they want to be vaccinated," he said. "Give them the information. Let them decide."
Canadians go to the polls on Sept 20.
