An employee at a Kelowna golf club has been praised for his honesty after handing in a paper bag containing $3,900.
Ryan Jerry gave the cash to the authorities right after finding it at the weekend, Tower Ranch Golf Club’s general manager said.
The money, it turned out, belonged to a single father with two children to support.
It represented a “very significant” amount of cash to the dad, Tower Ranch explained.
As a reward, Jerry has been named the club’s employee of the year.
His friend, Adaleena Mercuri, was also praised by general manager Eric Thorsteinson.
Thorsteinson added: “Our team's values, ethics and service philosophy is ALL about filling buckets – 'Have you Filled a Bucket Today?'
“Thanks for being a bucket filler Ryan (and Adaleena).
“We are so very proud of you and your actions!”
