KelownaNow is teaming up with the Kelowna Farmer’s and Crafter’s Market to keep the city up to date on what they can expect from the market each month.
From seasonal produce and blooms to favourite vendors and events, this is where you will want to come to help plan your weekly market trips!
August is here and so is the heat, making for some ideal outdoor shopping conditions!
With summer on its way out the Kelowna Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market is starting to welcome some fall favourites in terms of produce and will be celebrating them all month long.
Tomatoes and corn are making a triumphant return to various vendor stands along with everyone’s favourite versatile veggie, potatoes!
While most of the beloved stone fruit has been filling the baskets of many for the lasts few months, a number of melon varieties are making their way into the market in addition to the first few apples.
The annual tomato festival will take place this Sunday at the St.Paul Street satellite market.
From 9 am to 2 pm head down to celebrate the delicious veggie (or is it a fruit?) with free samples, learning opportunities and entertainment surrounding all things tomato!
If you find a unique tomato, make sure to snap a photo with it and share it on Instagram for a chance to win some market bucks.
August 24 and 25 is when corn takes over. From 8 am to 1 pm on the Saturday, and from 9 am to 2 pm on the Sunday, pop by the market to dive into some freshly roasted corn on the cob!
Not only that, but you can expect live music and various activities for all.
For those of you with a hankering for some omega-3, the market’s newest food vendor is serving up east-coast inspired seafood that you won’t want to miss.
From Vernon, The Lobster Pot is the latest food truck addition to the market and it hosts an abundance of delicious dishes with lobster straight from the Maritimes as the focal point.
From lobster rolls to lobster mac n’ cheese, there is something for every seafood lover on the menu!
Head to the corner of Springfield and Dilworth between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. every Wednesday and Saturday to enjoy all that the Kelowna Farmer’s and Crafter’s Market has to offer.
Or, pop by the Satellite Market every Sunday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.!
