In what feels like the blink of an eye, the West Kelowna Warriors season ended after they fell 6-2 against the Salmon Arm Silverbacks on Friday.
The loss gave the Silverbacks their fourth win in the five-game series to move on to the Interior Conference final and face the Penticton Vees.
Tanner Walos started the scoring for Salmon Arm in the first period before Felix Caron tied the game a minute later.
The draw did not last for long as Walos found the back of the net again to regain the Silverbacks’ lead.
The Silverbacks scored three unanswered goals in the second period before JJ Monteiro opened the third period with his fifth goal of the postseason, making it 6-1 for Salmon Arm.
As the clock wound down, the Warriors received a late power play and Isaiah Norlin scored the Warriors' last goal of the season in the 6-2 loss at home.
Matthew DellaRusso stopped 22 of the 28 shots he faced, while the Silverbacks went 1/6 on power plays.
The Warriors finished the regular season in second place in the Interior Conference and will now begin preparing for next season, one that will see them face the newly added teams from Alberta.
