John Evans will play one more year with the West Kelowna Warriors, then he’s headed to New Hampshire.
The 17-year-old has committed to the University of New Hampshire where he will begin play for the Wildcats in the fall of 2021.
Luckily for the Warriors, Evans still has one more year to play in West Kelowna.
The South Surrey native dominated the second half of this past BCHL season and led the Warriors in scoring with 53 points in 62 games.
“I feel like when I head into UNH I will have an opportunity to play right away and contribute,” Evans explained. “I also feel the conference UNH plays in best suits my style of play.”
Evans' strong play last season gave him plenty of options for the next stage of his hockey career, but he ultimately decided to commit to UNH.
He won’t be alone there either, as his longtime teammate and friend, Nick Ardanaz, is committed to UNH as well.
