The game may have been played at the Warriors’ barn, but Friday’s match was all Salmon Arm as the Silverbacks opened the playoff series with a 6-1 win.
After a scoreless first period, Nathan Mackie received a pass from below the goal line to the right faceoff circle, where he sent a shot flying.
Riley Ashe added to the Silverbacks lead later in the period when he buried a rebound to make it a 2-0 game.
The third period saw Salmon Arm jump out of the gate and pad their lead with goals by Patrick Raftery and Ryan Gillespie.
Viggo Nordström put the Warriors on the board at the 16:22 mark to avoid the shutout and make it a 4-1 game.
But that was all the Warriors would get in this one as Salmon Arm added two more scores before the end of regulation to take the 6-1 victory.

Matthew DellaRusso stopped 28 of the 31 shots he faced before being pulled in the third period.
The Silverbacks lead the best-of-seven series 1-0 and game two takes place at 7 pm at Royal LePage Place tonight.
