(UPDATE: Feb. 18, 2018 @ 9:10 a.m.) - The search for a missing young man from Airdire, Alta has ended in tragedy, as this morning the Revelstoke RCMP have reported that Micahel David Foster has been found deceased.
Revelstoke Mountain Resort Ski Patrol commenced a search of the resort all day on Saturday after he was reported missing on Friday evening. Revelstoke Search and Rescue deployed resources and searched beyond the resort boundaries.
At about 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, members of the Revelstoke Search and Rescue team located the man, deceased. Foster was located in the Greely Creek drainage north-east of the ski resort.
The Revelstoke RCMP are assisting the BC Coroner Service in the investigation into Foster's death.
The RCMP remind those using the backcountry to be prepared and always carry extra food, water, and a communication device. It is advisable to travel with others and to always notify a responsible person as to your expected time of return.

The Revelstoke RCMP are asking for the public's assistance in locating Micahel David Foster, 24.
Police received a report of a missing man late in the day on Friday, February 16th.
Foster failed to show up for work in Airdrie for three days and was then reported missing.
He was last known to have stayed at the Revelstoke Backpacker Hostel, on February 13 and then purchased a three-day ski pass at Revelstoke Mountain Resort for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (Feb. 13th – 15th).
Foster’s vehicle, a blue truck, has been located at the RMR parking lot, covered in several days’ worth of snow.
Police believe he has been present in the community for a while.
Foster's last banking and cell phone usage took place on Feb. 13th.
Foster is suspected to be skiing alone, with minimal backcountry experience.
Originally from Aurora, Ontario, he's been living in Airdrie, Alberta.
He's described as a 5'6" Caucasian man with blue eyes, blond hair and an average build.
Currently, RMR Ski Patrol are conducting sweeps of the in-bound areas.
Revelstoke Search and Rescue are deploying resources to search out-of-bound areas.
