If you're like many other people in Kelowna, the weekend for you is all about exploring our community, whether that be by trying a new local restaurant, checking out our downtown shops or heading to a cool event.
If you want to get out and about this weekend but aren't sure where to start, here is a list of great things we think you should check out on your weekend excursions.
St. Patty’s Day
It’s St. Patrick's Day weekend, so get on your best green outfit and head out on the town to enjoy all the fun that’s being offered!
If you’re 19 + and looking to scope out the best party spot, don’t worry we’ve done all the hard work for you and have put together a list.
In addition to the events on that list you can also head to Okanagan Mission Community Hall for a night of dancing and live music as part of their St. Paddy’s Day Dance on Saturday, March 18th from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
Rockets Game
If you're feeling lucky on St. Patty's Day share your luck with our hometown team. Cheer on the Rockets as they take on the Vancouver Giants on Friday night at Prospera Place.
Bring a little sunshine to your day and head to the Orchard Park Mall from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and take part in the very first Happiness Wall.
All you have to do is fill out a card about how you plan to share happiness and every time a card is posted to the wall, $1 gets donated to Big Brothers, Big Sisters. So get out and spread the happy!
Burger Baron
Burger Baron is back and business is booming! KelownaNow went over to the beloved burger joint to get the inside scoop about how they make their burgers and shakes, as well as how they've kept customers happy for nearly seven decades.
If this made your mouth water, be sure to head to the Rutland restaurant this weekend.
5 Days for The Homeless Kick Off Event
Starting March 19th until March 23rd, a group of UBCO students will be spending their nights outdoors in order to raise awareness about Kelowna’s homelessness situation. They'll also be raising funds for a local organization called HOPE.
The students will be hosting a kick off event in Kerry Park on Sunday.
Roller Derby
The Kelowna roller derby season kicks off with a home game this Saturday, March 18th at Central Sports Club.
Head over and watch this high-intensity sport as our Kelowna ladies go head-to-head against the Armstrong Farmers’ Slaughters.
To see a more comprehensive list of events taking place in our community you can head to our events calendar!
