What do you get when you mixed the smokey and salty goodness of bacon and the sweet and tart freshness of cider? The first ever BC Bacon & Cider Fest of course!
Locals flocked to the Laurel Packing House on Friday night to kick off BC Cider Week at a brand new event that encompasses two of the trendiest and delicious crazes in the culinary world.
A match made in heaven, this event brought together the best craft cideries and breweries from around Kelowna and gave young, local chefs a chance to test their skills with bacon-inspired bites.
One of the main ideas behind the event is to celebrate the current explosion of cider in the craft brew market and give new and curious customers the chance to try and pick their favourites. And the bacon part? Let’s be honest, bacon goes with everything.
In addition to the expected bacon and cider, the event also brought in some scrumptious new ice cream flavors from the beloved Tickleberry’s, as well as live music and of course, a good time.
