On Saturday morning 10 teams of hungry fundraising individuals stretched out their limbs and amped themselves up to take part in the annual United Way Bus Pull.
The teams were made up of eight individuals from local businesses whose main goal was not only to help the United Way with fundraising for their 2017 programs but to gain bragging rights and hold onto the community cup.
With clever team names and impressive fundraising numbers, these participants were in good spirits with high hopes of claiming their victory. With all hands on the rope, teams dug deep and displayed strength and teamwork, as the lines of teammates heaved with all their might to bring the transit bus across the finish line before their competitors.
This event isn’t just about helping the United Way, but it also helps the Kelowna community, as one in three individuals within the Kelowna area will benefit from the efforts of these teams.
An activity that some may deem as tiring, seemed to only bring smiles, laughter and a great time to all in attendance. The efforts of those involved will continue to bring that joy into the community with their support of the United Way.
