B.C.’s largest craft fair is gearing up for a triumphant return and is ready to help you sleigh the holiday shopping game.
The annual Craft Culture holiday market is returning to Prospera Place from December 8 to 9, bringing with it over 175 artisan vendors from B.C. and beyond, to help you find unique gifts while supporting small and local businesses.
“I am on the sixth year running this event, It has definitely grown over the past few years and all of the hard work has paid off,” said event producer, Karalyn Lockhart.
From toys, and fine knits to home decor and delicious treats, you can find something for everyone on your list and even gain some inspiration for your holiday feast.
“I have vendors from all over western Canada vying to be accepted, so there is a fabulous selection of high quality vendors to shop from, and ones that change from year to year,” added Lockhart.
Not only can attendees anticipate the same festive fun and impressive selection as years previous, but the 2018 event is set to streamline its traffic flow to increase customer enjoyment.
As one of the city’s most popular holiday events, Craft Culture tends to draw quite the crowd early on the first day.
In an effort to comply with capacity regulations, as well as to keep shoppers out of the long, chilly line up, the Craft Culture team is offering incentives to prompt attendees to arrive later on in the day.
“Every year, we see a large crowd arrive first thing on Saturday morning. We are thrilled with the enthusiasm of our customers! We rarely see lineups in the afternoon, making it a great time to shop if you want to avoid the crowds.” said Lockhart.
Shoppers who arrive after 2:30 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, will be entered to win a stay at Manteo Resort along with a gift certificate to Smack Dab Restaurant.
The market will also feature wider aisles, and late night shopping hours which will see the event run until 7:30 p.m. rather than the 6 p.m. closing time of years previous.
In addition to great shopping, and a customer friendly layout, attendees can look forward to the Prospera Place bar set up on the show floors, swag for the first 50 attendees, prizes and families can take advantage of the by donation stroller parking.
Admission is $5 per person, with partial proceeds being donated to Mamas for Mamas and children under 12 are free. The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 9.
