Stober Group has announced the passing of Albert Stober today.
According to the Okanagan based construction company, Al Stober passed away today at the age of 88 in Kelowna.
He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Sandra, his four children, Linda, Mark, Ken, and Carolyn, and 13 grandchildren.
Al Stober was at the helm of the Stober Group for over 62 years.
“Under his guidance the company has achieved the highest of accolades on multiple award-winning builds as well as community recognition for his innovative perspective,” reads a statement from the company.
“Al’s leadership and trust in his employees, through countless construction and development projects, allows the Stober Group to always and continuously push the envelope with perception, design, quality, and excellence.”
The company says that his work will be continued by this children, Ken Stober and Carolyn Stober.
“A true giant and pillar in the community, well known for his famed Landmark District development, among others, Al’s reputation for giving back through decades of dedication to numerous charities and organizations both on a local and international scale will ensure Al’s legacy will live on,” the statement continues.
“The iconic Tree of Hope which stands tall and proud, in the centre of the city, represents all the facets of giving Al believed to be an essential part of his faith and fellowship.”
