One of the Okanagan’s most popular spots for school field trips, tour stops and weddings has struggled through the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ranch was forced to close early for the first time in 15-years this winter and thus has cancelled its popular Christmas light show.
"After several conversations with the Provincial Government and Interior Health, the decision to cancel the Annual Christmas Light Show was not made lightly,” said Bruce Cummings, Chair of the O’Keefe Ranch Board of Directors.
“The Ranch would like to send a big thank you for everyone who donated Christmas lights and supplies.”
The Board of Directors is hoping to reopen the ranch for the season on Mother’s Day in May, however, there will be some changes following the tough year, including the closure of the Cattlemens’ Club Restaurant.
Meanwhile, management is reporting its “Fill the Steer” fundraiser has been a success with over 100 individuals contributing over $20,000 so far.
