The Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) team was called out to the area near Chute Lake Lodge for their 25th task of 2022.
On Tuesday afternoon, COSAR were called to help locate two guests at the lodge who had become lost on the east side of the lake. One of them had injured herself.
Due to the difficult terrain and the nature of the female’s injury, COSAR sent in a ground team of 12 members as well as a medical team in a helicopter.
Fortunately, the search was a short one and the female was located by RCMP officers and transferred safely down to the lake.
However, due to the large amount of deadall in the area, the rescue team decided to call in a boat to transfer the woman back to the lodge.
She was loaded into the helicopter and transported to an ambulance waiting to take her to the hospital.
In the news release, search manager Duane Tresnich gave a shout out to John Graham Helicopters, Chute Lake Lodge and the RCMP and thanked them all for their help.
