(UPDATE: Oct. 3 @ 2:10 pm) - The Kelowna RCMP have confirmed what Gordon Solloway's family shared this morning.

The 74-year-old's remains were found on Wednesday night on the Victor Forest Service Road.

"At this time, criminality is not believed to be a factor in Mr. Solloway’s passing," said an RCMP release.

The BC Coroners Service is investigating in an effort to determine his cause of death.

(UPDATE: Oct. 3 @ 9:50 am): Gordon Solloway's remains have been found, his family has said.

The family posted online that the "search is over" and that they are "bringing him home".

"May he rest in peace," the post added.

"Thank you for for your prayers."

(UPDATE: Oct. 2 @ 9:20 am) - The disappearance of Gordon Solloway remains a mystery.

The search for the 74-year-old was suspended on Tuesday after four days, with no new evidence found to help investigators find the missing man.

He was last seen filling up his grey 2012 Dodge Ram at a gas station in Rutland shortly after 7:30 am on Sept. 26.

His plan for the day was to head up to James Lake, an area that has been extensively searched since he went missing with no positive results.

"Mr. Solloway's grey Dodge Ram pickup truck with BC licence plate HM3670 has not been located either,” says Cpl. Meghan Foster.

“Currently, investigators are working to advance this investigation and do not believe that Mr. Solloway has met with foul play.”

Anyone with information regarding Solloway's whereabouts is urged to contact their local police.

Friends, family and search crews have covered 4,200 square kilometres of ground since then, but haven't been able to locate Solloway.

"The search area expanded from Goudie Road/James Lake to include the area around Big White and McCullough Lake recreational area," said a statement from COSAR.

"With help from Vernon SAR and Penticton SAR, it eventually covered the area between Lavington and Penticton and over to Beaverdell."

If more information is received, the search will resume.

(UPDATE: Sept. 27 @ 1:15 pm) - The search for a 74-year-old hunter continues in the James Lake area.

According to COSAR, the man went out on Thursday morning to sight in his rifle and was expected home by noon, but he didn't return.

He's described as 6'4", 240lbs with a medical condition that limits his mobility and is driving a silver 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 with BC license plate HM3670.

Search crews have been scouring the area on foot, as well as with trucks and ATVs, since late Thursday night and a helicopter was added to the search today.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
