The Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) is seeking volunteers to support Community Policies programs in Lake Country, Peachland and West Kelowna.
Volunteers work alongside the RCMP to support crime prevention and public safety education, helping strengthen safety and community connections across the region. Community Policing programs in the City of Kelowna are not included in this recruitment.
Community Policing volunteers serve as trained observers in their neighbourhoods, taking part in programs such as Citizens Patrol, Speed Watch and activities at local Community Policing Centres. These efforts help deter crime, share information and connect residents with policing resources.
“Our Community Policing volunteers are the eyes and ears of the community,” said RDCO community safety supervisor Roy Morgan. “Their commitment and attentiveness are instrumental in helping us maintain safe neighbourhoods throughout the Central Okanagan.”
Residents interested in volunteering must be at least 19 years old, live in the community where they wish to serve and have no criminal record. All applicants must complete an RCMP security screening.
Volunteers are asked to commit a minimum of four hours per month and should be comfortable working in a structured team environment with strong communication skills.
