(UPDATE: May 22 @ 8:43 am): The water quality advisory for properties in Killiney Beach has been rescinded.
The Regional District of the Central Okanagan said that, after consulting with Interior Health, it found that turbidity in Okanagan Lake is again within acceptable levels.
About 290 properties are connected to the community water system, located off Westside Road.

(Original story: May 11 @ 9:50 am): A water advisory affecting hundreds of properties in the Central Okanagan has been issued by the Regional District.
It concerns the Killiney Beach water system, which is used by 290 properties off Westside Road.
Turbidity in the water is at levels that might harm children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems.
Roadside signs warning of the water quality will be put up in the area.
“All water intended for drinking, washing fruit and vegetables, making beverages, ice or brushing teeth should be boiled for at least one minute or customers should use a safe alternative to water from the tap such as bottled or distilled water,” the RDCO explained.
“This water quality advisory will continue until turbidity returns to normal operating levels within acceptable Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality.”
