Canada is looking like the hands down favourite in women’s ski cross.
Canadians posted the top three times in the seeding portion of qualification, which included Kelowna’s Kelsey Serwa in second.

Serwa posted a time of 1:13.33, 0.22 seconds slower than the leader, Marielle Thompson of Whistler.
Brittany Phelan of Quebec finished in third with a time of 1:13.56, while Cranbrook’s India Sherret also qualified in 11th spot with a time of 1:15.48.
Next up for the women’s ski cross at the 2018 Winter Olympics is the elimination rounds on Friday morning in PyeongChang.
Those will begin at 5 p.m. PST on Thursday and Thompson will be in the first of eight heats.
Phelan and Sherret will be in back to back heats at 5:16 p.m. and 5:20 p.m. before Serwa wraps things up in the final heat at 5:28 p.m.
The quarterfinal races will begin immediately after those heats, followed by the semis and finals.
If you want to cheer on Serwa in Kelowna on Thursday, there’s a viewing party at Boston Pizza in the Dilworth Shopping Centre.
The event was originally set to begin at 6 p.m., but with the event being rescheduled it will now start at 4:30 p.m.
