BeeJay, aka Mr. B, aka Twitter’s ‘chonkiest’ cat is making headlines this weekend.
The adoptable feline rose to internet stardom after his photo was shared to Twitter by Philadelphia animal shelter Morris Animal Refuge on Thursday.
“Mr. B is a CHONK,” read the initial post. “He’s a chonk of a chonk. He redefines the term” — and truly he does.
OMG, big boi Mr. B is a CHONK. He’s a chonk of a chonk. He redefines the term. Can you guess how much he weighs? More importantly, can you give him a home? The two-year-old tabby cat weighs in at a whopping 26 pounds and has eyes that make you want to snuggle him until the end of time.
After the initial tweet garnered nearly 50,000 likes, BeeJay has had so many adoption requests coming in that he crashed the Morris website, but not before they made the most of his newfound virtual fame.
Capitalizing on his celebrity-status, the shelter quickly made t-shirts with his adorably-melancholy face on them, with profits set to go right back into caring for their current residents.

Morris has also made sure to share the photos of some of their other adoptable animals while the spotlight is still shining — helping to find even their longest-standing residents a lovable home.
Our lovely Pet of the Week Pandora - today’s her 226th day here - has been watching as her big buddy Mr. B. gets hundreds of great folks applying to adopt him. Nobody’s ever applied for her. She’s so happy for him. SO. HAPPY. (Apply to adopt her. Please? https://t.co/JqUmb9dndM). https://t.co/4qznMwTgrX pic.twitter.com/iMGcpLN3Kt— Morris Animal Refuge (@MorrisAnimal) August 23, 2019
Mr. B has also become a role model for other “chonky” kitties, as he officially declared the very first ‘Chonky Cat Lovers Society’ meeting to commence — prompting one of the cutest threads in Twitter history to be born, with hundreds sharing photos of their own ‘chonkasaurus’ felines.
One of his many glamour shots has even become a new and all too relatable new meme.

The best part of all of this, is that he will have a new furever home by the end of the week!
We want to thank everyone for the outpouring of support of Mr. B and the work we do here at Morris Animal Refuge. We have gotten it narrowed down to a handful of potential adopters that we think can give him the perfect home. His adoption should be finalized early this week! pic.twitter.com/3rGzECR3mw— Morris Animal Refuge (@MorrisAnimal) August 25, 2019
